Clarissa started learning Chinese in high school, motivated by personal interest and the hope of connecting with her Chinese heritage. As an Indonesian Chinese, she believed that learning Chinese was the first step to deepening her connection to the culture.

James Priddy

James began learning Chinese at the start of high school, seeing it as an opportunity to broaden his horizons and try something new. He continued studying the language through university, having experienced China firsthand and realising early on that its language, people, and culture would play a lasting role in his life.
