This year's film: Nobody

Duration: 1 hour 58 minutes

From the creators of the hit series Yao-Chinese Folktales, Nobody (2025) is a stunning 2D ink-wash animated feature that reimagines the classic Journey to the West through the eyes of the underdogs. The story follows a lowly pig demon from Langlang Mountain who, tired of being a "nobody" under a tyrannical demon king, teams up with a motley crew of misfits—a toad, a weasel, and an orangutan. Together, they embark on a chaotic, comedic, and deeply human quest toward the Western Paradise, attempting to find their own path in a world where they were never meant to be the heroes.

Through its breathtaking traditional Chinese art style, Nobody explores themes of workplace disillusionment, the search for self-worth, and the bond of "grassroots" friendship.
