About
Performances representing Chinese culture will be held throughout the day. These include traditional Chinese instruments, dances, and martial arts. Traditional Chinese instruments will consist of Guqin, Pipa and Guzheng. The Lian and dragon dance is one of the most traditional Chinese dances and is symbolic of bringing people wisdom, power and wealth. Martial arts such as Tai Chi and Kung Fu will also be demonstrated throughout the day, giving the spectators a performance of a lifetime. Chinese cuisine is renowned for its unique flavour and texture. There will be plenty of food trucks on the day, providing the students with dim sum, dumplings, noodles, and a wide selection of cultural snacks. An extensive variety of interactive activities will also be provided on the day, in which participants can have hands-on experiences of Chinese culture. We will teach calligraphy, which is an appreciation of the Chinese characteristics' aesthetics through ink and a brush. Participants will be able to try popular Chinese decorative folk arts like making paper lanterns and paper- cutting window decorations. We will also host ping-pong contests and riddle games where participants can compete to win amazing prizes.
